These yellow flowers are a dream! This is Ava and I went to High School with Ava’s mom, Kristen. Actually Kristen’s wedding was one of the first weddings I ever shot, it was at Indian Spring. We stayed in touch here and there over the years, and then one day I ran into her at R.E.A.D. School enrolling her daughter in Julia’s class. Fast forward to now, Julia and Ava are inseparable best friends. NEVER would I have thought that mine and Kristen’s friendship would be inherited by our daughters. It’s a beautiful thing.
So at the end our school year, after their Cap and Gown ceremony, I took the girls to this very special field. I knew the yellow flowers were in bloom, and that this was their last season. This field belongs to friends of mine, and they are soon building on the property. I am happy for my friend but I will miss driving by this field in the Spring & Summer. But now, I will forever remember these young besties, in all of their innocence and wonder, playfully roaming this field of yellow blooms. For more children portraits by Allison click here
